Channel Islands Pride 2023
We recently supplied stage branding for the vibrant and inclusive Jersey Channel Islands Pride event in 2023, held in September at People’s Park in St Helier, Jersey. Celebrated as the largest free community event in Jersey, the event showcased a stunning array of activities and performances, including a diverse lineup of musical and drag talent, emphasizing unity, pride, and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community.
Partnership with Mantra Brand House
For this project, we collaborated with Mantra Brand House, a London-based creative studio renowned for their commitment to impactful, positive branding. Known for their focus on environmental values and progressive social conscience, Mantra Brand House works with clients to create effective, authentic, and uplifting campaigns.
Sustainability and Reusability: Key Focus Areas
In addressing the specific needs of Mantra Brand House and the Jersey Pride Committee, we prioritised reusability and sustainability alongside the usual requirements for high-quality, vibrant, and crisp prints to maximise the event and sponsor brand image. Our industry consistently faces challenges in defining sustainability criteria, considering factors like sustainably produced materials, shipping weight, ink toxicity, and reusability. We strive for transparency, balancing material recyclability against durability. Ultimately, the client’s needs for reusability and long-term storage guided us to an ideal solution.
Material Selection
Aligning with the client’s preference for materials that are easy store for future use and manipulate on-site, we selected a super-lightweight polyester mesh. We produced six panels, three per tower, to wrap the PA system within their unique tipi-shaped PA structures.
Our work with Mantra Brand House on this project highlighted the importance of thorough discussions about material options and their trade-offs. These conversations ensure optimal choices for each unique project and serve as insightful references for similar future events. The enhanced acoustic transparency and vibrant print quality of Vestaweave has guided our decision to adopt it as our primary material for PA branding in future projects.
Logistical Challenges and Client Satisfaction
In addition to the PA tower wraps, we also created a bespoke backdrop for the Main Stage, and despite the logistical challenges of delivering direct to Jersey, ensured timely delivery of all assets for the event. The on-site team installed the graphics and reported that all stakeholders were very happy with the outcome.
