Loyle Carner European Tour Backdrop
Sunbaba were delighted to be commissioned to produce two backdrops for Loyle Carner, an award-winning English hip-hop musician. The backdrops feature a vibrant painting made by the artist, Alfie Kungu and their families.
Using a 315g/m2 Polyester Theatre Canvas on a 5m roll, the backdrop for the outdoor festival circuit measured almost 14 metres across, 8.5m deep, and was composed of three print sections switched together along a vertical seam. Sunbaba included a reinforced hem with eyelets for fixing the banner to the overhead rig and a pole pocket at the base to weigh the backdrop into position. The ink is printed directly to the canvas and subsequently passed through the heat press for sublimation and rich colour reproduction.
For the Carner’s indoor gigs, Sunbaba produced a smaller backdrop. This print required a single vertical seam and measured just under 10m with a 6m drop. A combination of fabric ties and eyelets was included along the top edge for rigging, with a pole pocket at the base.
